Hello, my name is John Sexton. I am the owner and craftsman of Biscuit Tree Woodworks.

I do not come from a long line of fine furniture builders. My dad was handy with a hammer and nails, as well as a wrench, welder, or just about any other tool he picked up. He very much had a Do-It-Yourself attitude, and I try to follow in those footsteps.

The first project!

The first project!

I first got started woodworking when my wife, Nikki, and I bought our first house. My first project was a small step stool so Nikki could reach the top of our closets. It was a very simple stool; a stair tread from a big box store and a couple pieces of plywood, but that first project gave me the woodworking bug. I started reading all the woodworking magazines and books I could get my hands on. I also found a wealth of information on YouTube as well as various websites and blogs.

Now I make my own videos to teach and inspire the next generation of woodworkers!

Besides Woodworking

Woodworking is my main hobby. I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and work full time in the chemical manufacturing industry as a Reliability Engineer. Besides woodworking, I also enjoy cooking, gardening, and a bit of gaming.
